GEC Renewal Reports will be evaluated based on the following:

1. All questions on the renewal report are answered.

Evaluated by identifying that all questions have been answered.

2. There is a plan for continuous improvement, an ongoing effort to improve the general education course. Does the report:

Identify opportunities to improve

Present a plan to improve

Discuss how the plan will be implemented

3. Sufficient data has been collected.

Did you meet the threshold for data that should be collected (show table)

4. The assessment plan has been effectively implemented and executed. Your renewal report should provide:

Discussion on what worked and did not work for each individual Student Learning Outcome (SLO) and each Tripartite goal identified for that course.

Discussion on how each SLO and Tripartite goal was measured. Including the identification and discussion of the tool used to measure each.

Indication that the report follows the assessment plan that was submitted and approved.

5. There are no unexplained deviations from submitted assessment plan.

Want to ensure that if there are deviations from the assessment plan, there is an identification of the deviations and a discussion of why the plan was changed.

Evaluation of GEC Renewal Reports

 1. Adequate with no changes

When all the above are addressed.

2. Adequate with recommended changes

All the above are completed. However, there is feedback or recommendations for departments on ways to improve report.

Renewals that fall into this category should consider the feedback of the committee in the preparation of their next five (5) year renewal report.

3. Adequate with required changes

When reports are submitted and there are items that are missed or questions on the renewal report that are not addressed.

Renewals that fall into this category will be given the opportunity to revise and resubmit their renewal reports in the Winter directly following their Fall submission.

4. No submission | Inadequate submission

No submission is an inadequate submission. Renewals that fall into this category will be encouraged to work with the GEC in the development and completion of an adequate submission. This work should commence in the Winter directly following the Fall renewal report submission. Failure to work with the GEC will result in the removal of your course from the General Education curriculum.
